Lemptégy
and its volcanic mysteries

In Lemptégy, we don't artificially recreate the mysteries of a volcano: we get right to the core.

Located in the centre of the Puys chain in the Auvergne, near Volvic, the Lemptégy volcano is a constant source of thrills and fascination for young and old alike, enabling them to discover the mysteries of volcanology during a guided tour of this natural site, unique of its kind in France and Europe, including a breathtaking documentary film and dynamic attractions! Over the space of 2 ½ hours, you will discover the anatomy of a volcano. Explore inside the volcano on foot or via the little train. Thanks to the possibility to observe and touch your volcanic surroundings, to the exposure of volcanic vents, or to a chance to see lava flows, faults and fumarole deposits at first hand, you will discover a 30,000-year old adventure, as the mysterious world of the volcano reveals its secrets to visitors of all ages.
