Visit the Volvic factory and information centre

In the heart of the volcanoes of the Chaîne des Puys is the Volvic Impluvium, where the famous mineral water takes its source, filtered through layers of volcanic rock. The natural site offers hikes and summer activities for the whole family. Learn more about Volvic water at the information centre or during a visit of the factory.

Explore the Volvic Source Park

Open year round, visitors can walk in the Volvic Impluvium nature reserve, the birthplace of the mineral water. With interpretive signposted walks for children, health trails and hiking trails with four levels of difficulty, there’s something for everyone. Pick up a map at the information centre or check the website for the schedule of guided hikes and other activities (horse-drawn carriage rides, water dowsing, treasure hunts, and more).

Unearth the secrets of Volvic

The information centre welcomes more than 80,000 visitors each year, from April to November. With an exhibition area, a theatre and a tasting centre, you’ll learn all about the volcanic filtering of the water, Volvic’s commitment to the environment, and the importance of hydration. Finish the visit with a taste of the new products!

Next up, take a tour of the Chancet factory, and discover all the steps it takes to bottle Volvic water.  The source is 90 meters underground, and the water is filtered for more than five years before being pumped to the factory, never exposed to the open air until you open the bottle!

Practical information

The Information Centre is open daily from April to November. Factory visits take place in July and August from Monday to Friday and select days in April, May, June and September. Visit the website for more details.

Please reserve 2-3 days in advance for the factory visit.

Free entry to both sites
