The Auvergne region
The Auvergne is a major natural region with its varied and often astonishing landscapes, some of which are former volcanic ranges. Water flows freely here in abundance, the fauna and flora are remarkable and the Auvergne's people are fully aware of the natural treasures entrusted to them for safe keeping.
With this in mind, two nature parks have been created in order to protect and enhance the biodiversity of the species and to protect the traditions and know-how of our ancestors.
The Auvergne is also a "region of regions"
Within the Auvergne itself we find a large number of very distinctive sub-regions existing within one another rather like Russian dolls.
These identities are diverse, distinctive and widely recognised, including those of the Cantal region, Vichy, the Forez area, the Dômes chain or Le Mézenc…
There are so many areas and treasures waiting to be discovered here!
